Poland’s May 3, 1791 Constitution

The officers of the Polish American Congress, Eastern Pennsylvania District, thank all who attended Polish Constitution Day celebrations.

On Thursday, May 3, 2007, at 11:00 A.M., a Polish Constitution Commemoration Day Program took place in St. Adalbert Auditorium in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, to mark the 216th anniversary of Poland’s Constitution of May 3, 1791. Michael Blichasz, President of the Polish American Congress, Eastern Pennsylvania District, welcomed everyone in attendance to the celebration held on the exact date of the May 3rd Constitution. Greetings were presented from Pennsylvania and Philadelphia elected officials and was followed by a presentation by the students from St. Adalbert Polish Language School, under the direction of Maria Koleda, which payed tribute to Poland’s May 3, 1791 Constitution, the second oldest constitution in the world.

Also participating in the program were representatives of the Polish American Congress, Eastern Pennsylvania District, Msgr. Francis Feret, Vice Chaplain and Pastor of St. Adalbert Church, Theresa Romanowski, Vice President, Richard Klimek, Recording Secretary and Fr. Krzysztof Mendelewski, Pastor of St. Valentine Church. This year’s program hosts were Msgr. Francis Feret, Pastor of St. Adalbert Parish, Sr. Ruth, Principal of St. Adalbert school, and St. Adalbert parishioners.
